The Fiscal year 2000/2001 will see a dramatic increase in the number of sites being supported by the Technical Services Division. The increase is primarily in number of geographically dispersed revenue collection sites, including Inland Revenue and Customs. Added to this will be the supporting of new clients, such as those using the Ministry of Finance & Planning’s Financial Management Information System (FMIS -presently seventeen sites).

The Remote Sites Management Department has been established to ensure that the levels of service and support to Fiscal Service Limited’s (FSL’s) current client base are not adversely affected with the roll out of sites under the Integrated Computerised Tax Administration System (ICTAS) across the island. The Department is charged with the delivery of support and other services to all sites outside of the Greater Kingston Metropolis area. The delivery of support to the Revenue Department sites has to be within the stipulated Service Contract established under the TAXARP programme. Jamaica Customs and other sites will also be serviced under similar terms.

Timely and professional services will be the focus of the RSM department. This will be achieved and sustained by the strategic deployment of qualified personnel, with supporting technology, across the island. Cost management will be a major point of focus but not to the detriment of timely response.

Recruitment started in June 2000 with the first four engineers on the road for August 1, 2000. The RSM engineers will be prepared to support hardware, network and software systems with the ability to access specialized skills/expertise online.

The department management is committed to ensuring the timely delivery of high quality customer focused solutions.
