Corporate Objectives
Overall objectives for the company are as stated below:
  • To continue on-going technology design of new systems and upgrade existing systems to meet 95% reliability requirement established by TAXARP;
  • To continue to improve the reliability and accessibility of the Wide Area Network (WAN);
  • To continue the improvement of the internet services by enhancing interconnectivity between the Revenue Departments and external organizations;
  • To develop VSAT link to general electrical information service with a view of significantly reducing the cost of connecting to other network;
  • To modernize computer equipment, improve processes, and provide system support so as to facilitate Government’s effort to maximize tax revenue through it’s economic and tax reform programs;
  • To continue the development and implementation of systems for the Revenue Departments and to complete each system within the time frame agreed on so as to facilitate the implementation of Government’s Tax Reform Program;
  • To develop system security framework by:
  • i. Implementing Property Tax Phase 2 system;

    ii. Commissioning server dedicated to query facilities for TRN and Property Tax;

    iii. Implementing AMVS in all rural Collectorate subjected to ICTAS infrastructural development program;

    iv. Developing AMVS/Customs interface;

    v. Undertaking modifications to adhere to agreed ICTAS standards;

    vi. Developing and implementing Land Valuation Phase 2.
     

  • To continue to assist the Ministry of Finance with the development and implementation of the Budget Information System and with it’s insurance regulation information system;
  • To continue the Customs Computerization Program with respect to developing Warehousing, Monitoring and Enforcement, Passenger Processing, Revenue Accounting, Passenger Manifest and Cargo Imp. Systems;
  • To continue providing on-going production application and hardware support to standardize database administrative practices, network and database administration support to the existing computerized system at each Revenue Department, so as to ensure the reliability of the system necessary to support Government’s tax collection and economic program.
  • To implement ICTAS at designated sites as required by TAXARP;
  • To continue the modification of systems to make them compliant with established standards;
  • To continue providing batch and on-line services to those Revenue Departments that continue to utilize such services for the purposes of giving support to the tax reform program.
  • To provide access capabilities thereby facilitating the sharing of taxpayer information among Revenue Departments through integrated information system necessary to support timely tax audit and tax compliance capabilities.
  • To continue to investigate, modify and test systems for Year 2000 compliance;
  • To improve Income Tax environment and telecommunication infrastructure for the Revenue Departments;
  • To continue the upgrading of FSL office, automation and tools to improve service quality and efficiency to the Revenue Departments;
  • To maintain an effective HRD program which facilitate the recruitment, training and maintaining qualified employees required to provide on-going computer support to the TAXARP program;
  • To operate a MIS which facilitate the production of timely management information required for decision support, so that issues and barriers adversely affecting the tax reform computerized support program can be quickly stated and corrective action taken.
  • To be price competitive so as to ensure that the tax reform computerization support program is economical.
  • To install a network management system (NMS);
